In preparation for this article each month, I reflect on my previous favorite things articles. To me, it seems like what we like changes so much from month to month.

One month I’m swearing by the Milky Jelly Cleanser, the next I’m using Cetaphil. I suppose this is not too unusual. After all, if you haven’t caught on already, life is fleeting when you’re a young adult.

As a result, our grrls’ most loved product change every time I ask. Thus, I decided to open up this month’s listicle to the public.

While you may not be well acquainted with all of these names, you can trust that what they’re recommending is a very admired product.

When it comes to music, past GrrlPunch contributor Geneva Paulk highly recommends checking out “Put Your Records On.” This summer staple has been stuck in their head all summer. So, go check out what all the hype is about right here.

Similarly, GrrlPunch follower Jonna Logan said that if you’re in the mood for some killer lady music, you need to check out King Princess ASAP. To listen to their new single, go over here.

Next, Olivia Dailey had a lot to say about The Garden. She has been playing their “Mirror Might Steal Your Charm” on repeat. “It’s weird but one you definitely should listen to all the way through,” Olivia said.

If you’re in a listening mood, but you don’t need a song rec, our grrl Maloree Powers told us to check out a podcast called “And That’s Why We Drink.” If you’re in a true crime and paranormal kick, Maloree cites that this is the podcast for you.

Maybe listening to stuff altogether is not your thing, and that is ok. Thankfully, we have some bomb shows for you to check out as well.

I’m heard you’ve heard the name Donald Glover buzzing around the internet lately. Well, Sidney Parish said that when you’re not analyzing “This is America,” she recommends checking out his show Atlanta.

Our beloved editor-in-chief has also been shamelessly plugging a certain show this month. She states it plainly: “The Hulu adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s ‘The Handmaid’s Tale has been haunting me as well as millions of other viewers since it’s premiere last April.” Lucy has been binge watching this show since the beginning, and she thinks that you should too.

We have covered music, podcasts and shows, now all we are missing are books, columns and products. Thankfully, GrrlPunch is here to help with that as well.

Up first, there’s Reed Winckler‘s newfound book love: “Their Eyes Were Watching God” by Zora Neale Hurston. This renowned book has been read and reread by plenty. If you haven’t read it yet, do so promptly.

I know Lucy just got done roasting self-help books and articles, but that can’t stop me from plugging this book: The War of Art. I was forced to read Steven Pressfield’s book for an internship. I initially dreaded it, but by the end I had a newfound understanding of what it truly means to be a young creative. If you’re struggling to create content, get your hands on it ASAP.

When it comes to other things I like that Lucy roasts, there’s Modern Love. If you haven’t heard of it, Modern Love is a New York Times column filled to the brim with essays about the woes of modern relationships. They somehow simultaneously find a way to rip your heart out and warm it. If you want to get started, read this one, this one and this one, too. You’ll be addicted like me in no time.

Onto products. Olivia Dailey‘s swears by this sunscreen. She explains that it is reef safe. So, purchasing it is a no brainer.

Finally, I have a skincare product for you to try. I picked up this foaming cleanser at Lemon Laine in Nashville three weeks ago. If you’re a long-time GrrlPunch reader, you know I struggle with cystic acne. I’ve sworn by Cetaphil for over a year now, but now I’m a changed grrl. On this foaming cleanser, my skin is better than it ever has been. I strongly recommend.

This concludes May’s edition of Favorite Things. If you have a product that you’re loving, comment below or email me!

If you check out a recommendation and love it, let us know about that as well!
